Privacy Policy
The short version. Everstead stores the home and equipment records you enter so it can remind you when maintenance is due. We don't sell your data. We don't share it with other users. You can delete your account and its data at any time. The free version shows ads, served by Google — they never receive the records you enter, and subscribing removes them.
This policy explains what Everstead ("we", "us") collects, why, and what you can do about it. Everstead is published by Trinity Tech Labs.
Information you give us
Account information
When you create an account we collect your email address and a password. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes by our authentication provider — we never see or store your actual password.
Your home and equipment records
Everstead stores what you choose to enter, which may include:
- Properties and the rooms or areas within them, including any names or labels you give them
- Equipment, appliances, and vehicles, including make, model, year, and specifications you record
- Maintenance schedules, due dates, and your record of completed tasks
- Repairs, projects, notes, and any costs you log
- Photos and files you attach, such as receipts, manuals, or condition photos
- Emergency preparedness checklist progress
We do not ask for your street address, and Everstead does not collect your device's location.
Messages to the AI assistant
When you use the AI assistant, your questions are sent to our server along with context about the equipment you have logged, so the assistant can answer about your specific items rather than in generalities. See "Service providers" below for where that goes.
Information collected automatically
- Push notification token. If you enable notifications, we store the token your device issues so we can send maintenance reminders. It identifies the device, not you personally.
- Purchase status. If you subscribe, we receive confirmation of your subscription status and its renewal or expiry dates. We never receive your payment card details — Apple handles payment entirely.
- Diagnostic information. Basic crash and error information, used to fix problems.
- Advertising identifier. On the free plan only, your device's advertising identifier (the IDFA on iOS) may be used by our ad provider to select and measure ads. See "Advertising" below. Subscribers are not shown ads and this identifier is not used.
How we use your information
- To build your maintenance schedule and calculate what is due, overdue, or upcoming
- To send the reminders you asked for
- To answer your questions through the AI assistant
- To determine which features your subscription includes
- To diagnose problems and improve the app
- To show ads in the free version of the app
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your home or equipment records for advertising — your properties, equipment, maintenance history, costs, photos and AI conversations are never sent to our ad provider, and are not used to target ads. We do not share those records with other users or with third parties except the service providers described below.
Service providers
Everstead relies on a small number of providers to operate. Each receives only what it needs:
- Supabase — hosts our database and handles sign-in. Your account and all records you enter are stored here. Access is restricted at the database level so that only your account can read your data.
- Anthropic — provides the AI model behind the assistant. When you send a message, that message and the relevant equipment context are transmitted to Anthropic to generate a reply. Anthropic does not use data submitted through its API to train its models.
- RevenueCat and Apple — process and validate subscriptions. Apple handles all payment information; we never see it.
- Expo — delivers push notifications to your device.
- Google AdMob — serves the ads shown in the free version. AdMob receives your device's advertising identifier and general technical information such as device type, operating system and coarse region. It does not receive your account, your email address, or anything you have entered into Everstead. Google's handling of that data is governed by its own policy: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Advertising
The free version of Everstead is supported by ads. Everstead Pro removes them entirely.
On iOS, the first time we are about to show you an ad, Apple asks for your permission to track you across other companies' apps and websites. Your answer is entirely up to you:
- If you allow it, ads may be personalized using your advertising identifier.
- If you decline — or never answer — you will still see the same number of ads, but they will be non-personalized, chosen from general context rather than your identifier.
You can change your mind at any time in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security → Tracking, and you can reset or limit your advertising identifier in the same place. If you subscribe, you are not shown ads and are not asked this question at all.
If you are in the EEA or UK
Before any ad is requested, we show you Google's consent form, which asks separately about the purposes your data may be used for. Ads are only requested once you have made a choice, and if you decline consent you are shown no ads at all rather than non-personalized ones.
You can reopen that form and change your answers at any time from Settings → Ad privacy choices in the app.
We ask Google to serve only ads rated suitable for general audiences.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your records for as long as your account exists. You can request deletion of your account and its data by emailing us at the address below, and we will action it promptly. Deleting your account removes your records from our active systems; residual copies may persist in encrypted backups for a limited period before being overwritten.
Note that on the free plan, maintenance history older than 90 days is hidden from view rather than deleted, and becomes visible again if you subscribe.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. Most of this is available directly in the app; for anything else, email us and we will respond within 30 days.
If you are in the EEA or UK, our lawful basis for processing is performance of our contract with you (operating the app), and our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and working. For advertising specifically, our lawful basis is your consent, collected through the form described under "Advertising" above and withdrawable at any time from Settings → Ad privacy choices.
Children
Everstead is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and database access rules restrict every record to the account that created it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information and will notify affected users of any breach as required by law.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
